Every Saturday morning I’m going to give you a little writing nudge called Your Weekend inTENtion.
It’s not because I’m a bossy boots but because I want you to think about how much time you’re going to give to your writing over the weekend, which is when we still have the most free time
What are your goals?
Are you working on the outline?
Characters? Scene structure? Themes?
Do you just have that itch to throw caution to the wind and bash away furiously at your keyboard and see what magic shoots out of your hands like Spidey?
Or are you sitting in a cafe listening to the coffee machine steam like the Hogwarts Express as you sip your coffee (a must!) and muse over what your protagonist has on their bedside table?
You might laugh at the latter but I still remember the book that sat on the bedside table of the main character from my first screenplay. It was A.S Byatt’s Possession, and it was a considered choice to reflect her current emotional state.
No detail is too small!
Happy writing. I’ll see you Monday for an update.
