Love this Lisa. I have a writer friend who wrote most of her first book at a coffee shop she stopped at before work daily. Thirty minute intervals. And Elmore Leonard, the story goes, kept a pad in his desk at his corporate advt job and jotted lines btwn calls and clients. Btw, thank you for the recommendation! Means a lot to me.
You're welcome. I love your writing and intend to work my way through it all. I love that your friend carved out time for herself. I can't imagine having time in an office to write in that way so kudos to Elmore for making it work for him.
Thank you, Lisa. I loved my friend’s tenacity. And what’s really neat re Leonard is how so many of his stories became screenplays. (don’t know if he wrote them or not). Even 3:10 to Yuma, a film I really liked. I looked for the story (quite short) and though it read a bit differently, still full-on Elmore.
