Join The TEN's Summer Writing Breeze
Get involved if you want to see real progress in just 12 weeks
Do you have a clear writing goal in mind? Or need help figuring it out?
Excited by the idea of consistently increasing your page count this summer?
Ready to commit to a laid-back yet effective 12-week writing challenge?

If it’s a yes, then you really need to join The TEN’s Summer Writing Breeze!
Over the next three months, this gentle hug of a writing challenge is going to help you get some real work done.
How? Well, as your self-appointed motivator-in-chief, I’m going to be playing the role of that annoying (but hopefully entertaining) voice in your head, herding you along the path until we reach ‘The End’.
Taking part in the Summer Writing Breeze means we’ll be writing together over the next three months to produce new pages and hit clear goals. Yep, I’m doing it too.
I’ll be sharing my writing progress via video diary, along with useful insights and tips, in the same way I do at my in-person writers group. (Shout out to my peeps at the Read-on-Sea cafe!).
There will be a structure to the 12 weeks but nothing too scary. I will be uploading the occasional pesky worksheet ™ and other materials/links that may interest you.
Additionally, I’ll also be utilising the Substack Chat feature so that we can talk to each other like the snuggly little writing bugs we are. You need to download the app to be able to take part in the conversation.
This week, we’re going to talk about setting goals.
Easy breezy goals.
Loosey goosey goals.
Achievable goals.
To join the Summer Writing Breeze, you need to become a paid subscriber. This is so that I have enough money to buy coffee, ink for my fountain pen and the occasional bag of Hula Hoops.
It’ll be worth your while. The TEN costs just £5.99/$7.69 a month. That’s a lot less than say, a house or almost anything else in the world right now.
As well as a writers group, The TEN is also a digital magazine featuring regular q&a’s with writers and industry insiders, and a curated Sunday newsletter packed with long-reads, book/podcast/streaming recommendations, novel and screen-writing competitions, industry news and much, much more.
Endearingly, one of my subscribers - someone who I met here on Substack - has called The Write to Know, a ‘mini Vanity Fair’. Jeanine, I love you forever!
So if you want to be held accountable, be inspired and have a reason to stay motivated during the summer months, throw a few pennies into the pot and support The TEN.
It will support you right back.
We can waft into summer and collectively bask in the glow of the long, warm nights and the thrill of a beautifully crafted sentence.
The first Summer Writing Breeze video diary will be posted tomorrow.
See you there!
