Reading as you know is Never a waste of time. I have less time to read now w/ research and writing for SubS and reading other Stacks but am making a concerted effort, like you, to wade back in. I think it is really important and then when I find a book I like, I feel so gratified! Reading Richard Powers' latest, Playground, and as always - he NEVER disappoints. He's so incredible, timely and also a great storyteller. Good luck w/ your new writing venture!
I think of reading as a creative pursuit. I always tell my partner this when I tell him I'm going to read for 1/2 hour in the afternoon! I sometimes walk into a bookshop and think, 'why would anyone write another book?!' but there are so many stories the world needs right now. Yours, I am sure, is one of them. X

Does that mean I need to add another book to my TBR? 😆
Eventually ): Powers is something!
I have to read while I’m writing. Otherwise I’d end up too imprisoned in my own crazy world. Other writing is as essential as music. And tea. X
I can easily imagine that would be the case if you were in it 24/7. And of course, tea! x

I like that. I'm going to think of it as a creative pursuit AND wine! x
